MANAGER Jason Matthews has revealed that three key members of his squad are set to miss out against Hungerford at home tomorrow (3pm).

Midfielder Mark Molesley is suspended for the sending off he received at Petersfield two weeks ago, Pat Baldwin is still struggling with a calf problem and Chris Shephard is unavailable. Jordan Copp is set to return after food poisoning kept him out against Chippenham on Tuesday.

The Weymouth chief told Echosport: “It is a bit of a blow when you have two of your flair players out and your centre-half when you have been keeping clean sheets.

“But we have to deal with that and I felt we played well against Chippenham, as we did against Leamington.

“We have a good squad and Jake Wannell can fill in at centre-half, as can Chris McPhee.”

Without the key trio, Matthews’ men are set to put their unbeaten home league record on the line against a Crusaders’ team who are yet to lose on their travels.

“It’s another big game against probably one of the big spending sides. They call themselves little Hungerford but they haven’t got a little budget,” Matthews added.

“I know the way they play and we will have to be show our mettle. They have a long throw and have pace through Alan O’Brien.

“They have a lot of powerful forwards as well but it’s more about us.”

Matthews said at the start of the season that he wanted people to judge his squad after 10 games of the campaign.

Following Tuesday’s 1-1 home draw against leaders Chippenham, their 10th league game, the Terras currently sit ninth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division with four wins, four losses and two draws to their name.

Matthews added: “I am fairly pleased with where we are at the minute without us fully hitting our straps. We will see where we are in the next 10 games and you will get to the point where the grounds get a bit heavier and that’s where there are some real tests of your squad and your managerial ability.”
