STEVE Boore will take on the goalkeeping duties for Weymouth in their Dorset Senior Cup quarter-final at Verwood Town tonight (7.45pm) after loanee Jordan Holmes was recalled by Bournemouth.

Holmes featured in the defeats to Dunstable and Hemel Hempstead with player-manager Jason Matthews sidelined by a heel problem.

However, Boore gets the nod for the Terras’ tie against their Sydenhams Premier Division opponents as Holmes now is back at the Cherries due to injuries to Adam Federici and Artur Boruc.

Like Boore, Aston Butcher also comes into the Weymouth team tonight while Mark Cooper, Ben Thomson, Chris McPhee and Chris Shephard are all set to be rested.

“It should be a good game,” said Matthews. “We’re defending our title and we don’t want to give it up easily.

“We’ll going there wanting to do a professional job and the game will give lads like George Rigg a chance to get some minutes under their belts.

“It should be a good workout for us and we’re looking forward to it.”

Verwood currently lie 16th in their league with one win in their last six premier division outings.

They suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Newport (IoW) last Saturday – that followed a 3-2 victory over Whitchurch United.

* The Terras are inviting fans to the HSS Lounge on Saturday, December 12 (5.15pm) to hear an update on the progress relating to the new stadium from chairman Chris Pugsley and Gareth Jones, of Rustem Guardian solicitors.
