WEYMOUTH Football Club have revealed this evening that coaches Mark Molesley and Paul Maitland will be in caretaker charge of the Terras, following Jason Matthews’ exit next week.

The duo, who have worked under Matthews as part of his backroom staff throughout the campaign, will step up to the managerial role after Tuesday’s Dorset Senior Cup final against Gillingham Town – Matthews’ final game as manager.

A spokesperson for the club said: “For continuity for the players and, with it being so close to the end of the season, it makes sense (to have Molesley and Maitland in charge).

“The club’s aim is to have a new manager in place before the end of the current season.”

Molesley and Maitland are set to take charge for games at home to Chesham and then away at Cirencester Town over the Easter Bank Holiday.

They are set to finish their carekater tenure with a home clash against Leamington on Saturday, April 22.

The Weymouth board issued a statement earlier today advertising the manager’s position, with a deadline of Thursday, April 13 (5pm).
