WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley admitted Jordan Ngalo’s performances have been a real highlight despite a difficult run of form for the Terras.

Ngalo has been playing out of position in a more defensive role of late, but has emerged with some fine performances capped with a display in the 2-2 draw against Hartley Wintney that immediately stuck out.

Molesley said: “I think that has probably been one of our bigger positives to come out of our sticky spell that we have blooded a young, good player with loads of potential and it is not his natural position that he is playing but I think that has been a real highlight for us.”

Ngalo, 19, joined the Terras in December and made his debut during the 5-0 win over Redditch United at home, replacing Josh Carmichael in the 76th minute.

Ngalo scored his first goal for the Terras with a memorable curling effort in February with the last kick of the game to cement a 3-1 win at home to St Neots Town.

Ngalo has started the last three matches for the Terras, playing in the more defensive role but during which the Terras have had a testing run.

During that time Weymouth have drawn 1-1 at home to Banbury United in the FA Cup first qualifying round, before losing 2-1 away in the replay.

Ngalo then started in the 2-2 draw with Hartley Wintney and worked well down the right-hand side in helping to craft early chances for the Terras in what was a great start to the match by the home side.

Molesley said: “He is a player we have high hopes for and we are looking forward to seeing him grow and flourish.

“It has been a real highlight to see him and now we’re looking for the others to follow suit and get back to their top performances.”

Weymouth are next in action when they travel to Staines Town on Saturday, September 29 in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South.
