MARK Molesley hailed Calvin Brooks for showing Weymouth everything they missed, after his performance in the 4-0 win against the Met Police on Tuesday night.

Brooks was part of the team that thrashed the Terras’ title rivals to move five points clear at the summit with five games to go.

Brooks initially left the club in the summer last year, but rejoined on September 27, prior to the 4-1 win at Staines Town, who are Weymouth’s opponents on Saturday.

Molesley said: “I don’t usually point out individuals but I thought Calvin showed everything that we missed when he was not here.

“That was a massive getting him back into the football club.

“He proved that (against the Met Police) I could go on, I thought everyone was fantastic.

“We are getting the right balance at the moment, but like I said we cannot get carried away.”

The performance against the Met Police was calm and professional from Weymouth, as they confidently dealt with their final top four fixture of the season, in which they have gone unbeaten in fixtures of that type.

Molesley explained that the pressure is normal however, and says the team are stronger for it.

Molesley’s attentions now turn to Staines Town, who have four wins all season and have already been condemned to the drop having conceded 136 goals.

Molesley said: “We have had pressure all season.

“This is normal to us, everyone heaps all of the pressure on us and we took it and we are stronger for it.

“We are not getting carried away.

“The games are coming thick and fast, it is a massive game on Saturday, the next game is always the biggest game and that is the way we are looking at it.

“We are going to prepare the best we can, we are going to dust ourselves down, see each other (tonight), get the right work/rest ratio into them and be ready to go again Saturday.

“Nothing has been done.”
