Josh McQuoid hits late winner for Weymouth at Wimborne

WIMBORNE 2 WEYMOUTH 3

WEYMOUTH continued their perfect record in pre-season with an entertaining 3-2 win over Wimborne Town at Cuthbury.

As ever, match fitness and sharpness is the main focus for Mark Molesley and his backroom team but the Terras can be pleased with their desire in this see-saw win.

Former Weymouth’ striker Tony Lee opened the scoring on 10 minutes, burying a delightful cross from Sam Bayston.

The visitors responded with two goals from two trialists in five minutes, the first a neat move started by Jordan Ngalo before the latter trialist rounded Magpies’ keeper George Wescott to score.

In the second half Weymouth made 10 substitutions for the final third of the game but saw Bayston equalise as Lee repaid his earlier assist.

However, Josh McQuoid tucked home an inviting ball from Brett Williams with four minutes left to seal the victory.

Terras’ squad: Childs, Wells, Zubar, Buckley, Farrugia, Trialist, Murray, Robinson, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Brooks, Olumuyiwa, Rose, Harfield, McCarthy, Wakefield, Baggie, McQuoid, Williams, Ngalo.
