Weymouth supporters club in association with Cancer Care Dorset’s popular car boot sales at the Wessex stadium have been under threat of closure by the 400 year old Market Charter Law as it was seen as direct competition to a similar market in Dorchester. West Dorset District Councils legal department has notified the football club that they are not in breach of this charter and are free to continue to operate.

Mr. Bennett said that “This was wonderful news because the revenue generated by the car boot sale’s not only benefits Weymouth football club but Dorset Cancer Care as well.”

The car boots have raised over £1500 for Dorset Cancer Care so far.
