Weymouth boss Geoff Butler says it’s ‘make your mind up time’ for Yeovil over the future of Lee Phillips.

The former Plymouth Argyle striker is in the second week of an extended trial at Huish Park while the Glovers assess whether he is the answer to their need to pep up their Nationwide Conference attack.

Yesterday Phillips played in a full scale trial game at his old Home Park stomping ground in Plymouth as Argyle took on Yeovil behind closed doors.

And Butler believes that should have given Yeovil manager Gary Johnson the ideal opportunity to decide whether to meet the Terras’ undisclosed, five-figure valuation of their goalscoring star.

“We have been as co-operative as we could possibly be in letting him train with them for two weeks and it’s time for them to decide whether they want him or not,” said Butler who has stressed that the Terras valuation is “not negotiable. Lee’s our player and unless they do something to alter that situation, that is what he will remain.”

Butler said that in any event Phillips will not be leaving the Wessex Stadium before Saturday’s FA Trophy Second Round tie away to Ryman League Heybridge Swifts.

“We haven’t got time now to get a replacement in before the Trophy game, so Lee won’t be going anywhere until after this weekend,” he said.

Former AFC Bournemouth midfielder Mark Rawlinson has already been ruled out of the trip to play Swifts. He has been told to rest an injured Achilles tendon for a couple of weeks.
