WEYMOUTH face a tricky test at high-flying Leamington tomorrow (3pm) and chief Jason Matthews is keen for his charges to make the trip with a positive attitude.

The Terras, still hurting after crashing out of the FA Cup last weekend, are only three points off top and two points behind this weekend’s opposition, who currently occupy second in the table.

The Brakes, who suffered dramatic cup heartache in midweek, are yet to lose at home in the league so far this term.

Matthews said: “They are obviously a good side and have signed some good players.

“Obviously they have (Ben) Mackey there, who is a proven goalscorer at this level.”

Asked what the message will be to his troops before they lock horns with Leamington, the player- manager said: “Just to go out and be positive.

“The boys are in good spirits and are keen to put the wrongs right.

“It’s important that we get a reaction.

I know I keep saying it after every defeat but if you don’t get those reactions then you’re probably not the man for the job.”

Matthews is set to have a full squad available for tomorrow but also revealed that Josh Grant is expected to take a spell elsewhere.

The Weymouth boss added: “He (Grant) is going to go and get a month’s worth of games at Bideford.

I feel that he has done quite well but he needs some games.”
