GEORGE Rigg believes that he still has “more to give” now that he has won his place back in the Terras’ side.

The all-action midfielder, who was unlucky not to add to his two goals at Histon last Saturday when he hit the crossbar against Cambridge City in midweek, believes now is the time for the squad to put a positive run together after climbing to third in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

He told Echosport: “I’m back in the team which is a personal positive for me and we’ve grabbed a couple of results in the last two games and seem to be back on track. Everyone is ready to kick on.

“Now I am back in I am just happy to be part of a winning side.

“I don’t even think I’m match fit yet so that’s still coming. I am sure I will have a bit more to give when I’m fully match sharp.

“I have had a good couple of games so I’m looking to push on now and cement my place in the team.

“We have found our way and we are up to third in the league now, at the top it can change very quickly. Poole are top at the minute but, as we all know, anything can happen.”

Rigg was placed in a more advanced role against the Lilywhites as the Terras lined up 4-2-3-1 on Tuesday and he insists it is a position that he is happy to take on.

He added: “At Histon I played centre midfield and ended up out wide in a more attacking role. On Tuesday I was out wide again, which I don’t mind, I quite like that position as well.

“I think that’s our best formation at the minute, everyone seems to be clicking.

“You can express yourself more and the three in there are chopping and changing all the time. We have quite good movement.

“I think me, Shep (Chris Shephard) and Kells (Adam Kelly) link up quite well. We are on the same wavelength, we know what each others’ game is and it works well.

“It’s good to mix my game up and I can still chop and change in there so it gives me more opportunities.”
