BRADLEY Tarbuck is optimistic that his loan deal will be extended after enjoying his month spell with the Terras.
It has been a frustrating month for the winger having had to sit out both FA Trophy games due to ineligibility and also missed a penalty during the shoot-out loss to Paulton Rovers in the League Challenge Cup on Tuesday.
He has been a bright influence when he has played and he is hoping for an extension to his deal from Havant & Waterlooville.
Speaking about his time at the Bob Lucas Stadium, Tarbuck told Echosport: “I’ve really enjoyed it. All the boys are great and it’s been good. Game time has been frustrating but, it’s just bad timing with the FA Trophy games.
“I haven’t spoken to Jase (Jason Matthews) yet about an extension but, I’m sure we will discuss it soon and work it out.
“I came here for game time and to try and push myself into the first team at Havant.
“I’ve got to take every week as it comes.”
Tarbuck’s loan is set to expire after Saturday’s trip to Redditch United and the midfielder, who has netted once in his spell, feels the club can have a good run of form.
He added: “It’s not been great in the league but, they had a great result against Dunstable in the FA Trophy and I’m sure that they will go on a good run now.”
He has also been able to link up with former team-mate Charlie Davis – the pair played together at Dorchester Town last season – and Tarbuck is happy that they’re back in the same changing room again – even if it’s just for travel convenience.
Speaking about Davis, the former Portsmouth academy player remarked: “It’s been great. It’s easier for me to travel to him and then onto Weymouth. It’s ideal.”
Asked about his former club, Dorchester, he said: “There’s no major differences. They’re both very professional and they do things properly.
“Everyone has their different styles.”
Tarbuck will be wanting to show his own style on Saturday against the Reds and to give manager Matthews some food for thought.
