WEYMOUTH club chairman Chris Pugsley has revealed that director Tony Greaves has stepped down from the Terras’ board.

Greaves, who joined the board in May 2012 was the vice-chairman to Pugsley at the Bob Lucas Stadium, handed in his resignation after a board meeting on Friday night, according to the chairman.

Pugsley told Echosport: “Tony had been on the board for a number of years. In more recent times he has been spending more time in France and he is now going to spend even more of his time there.

“In recent times he has been working as an assistant on the ground (the club’s proposed move) with Alan (Pepperell, director) and Gareth (Jones, solicitor) to move that forward and he has done a great job.

“On behalf of myself and the rest of the board at Weymouth Football Club, we would like to thank him for what he has done and wish him all the best for the future.”

Pugsley also announced that Neill Child has joined the club’s board.

Asked about the new board member, he replied: “Neill is a lovely guy and he is going to be taking responsibility for ground improvements, developments and working closely with the FA on the grants available and doing what we can to make the facilities better.

“He is a great attribute to the board.”

Asked whether any of the current directors at the club will step up to be vice-chairman in future, Pugsley said: “One will be appointed without a doubt, as to who it might or might not be, I don’t know at this moment in time.”

The Terras’ chairman also revealed both he and manager Jason Matthews will be present at the club’s scheduled fans’ forum, following the home game against Stratford Town next weekend.

“The fans can ask whatever they want,” he added.

“Jason is going to be there, I’m going to be there, and every question they ask will be answered in complete honesty.

“They can voice their opinions and their frustrations, which we have all got.”

Pugsley also indicated that a statement was set to be released at the forum, regarding the club’s ongoing plans for a new ground.
