Another midweek matters and this time Adam Purchase, of theterras.com, caught up with new signing Brandon Goodship to discuss his move to the Terras and pre-season.

Adam Purchase: Having joined the Terras from League 2 side Yeovil Town, what attracted you to Weymouth?

Brandon Goodship: Mark Molesley phoned me and told me what his plans were for the club and what direction this big club wanted to go in and it straight away attracted me. Having previously worked with him at AFC Bournemouth, I knew what he was about and it became a no brainer.

AP: After playing at six other clubs at a range of different levels, which team did you enjoy playing for the most?

BG: So far it would have to be Yeovil Town as it’s the highest standard I’ve played at so far and with that comes nice stadiums with big attendances and obviously there’s nothing better than playing in front of that come Saturday!

AP: What are your opinions on Charlie Davis’ hair cut? Rating out of 10?

BG: Haha, Charlie’s haircut normally isn’t for me… but today he’s actually had it cut for the first time in 6 weeks and I’m not afraid to say his barber has done him wonders. So will have to go for an 8.5.

AP: Do you set yourself targets for the season and if so what are your targets for this coming season?

BG: Normally I don’t no, I just take each game as it comes, but I’ll be hoping to make a big impact in each game and put us high up the table.

AP: On Tuesday the Terras kick off their pre-season campaign against rivals Yeovil Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium. Will your history with Yeovil Town add anything to the tie?

BG: For me it’s just another game to impress the manager and be as competitive as we can in the 1st game, it will be good to see some old faces as I got on well with a few of the boys from Huish Park!

AP: After being at AFC Bournemouth with Terras boss Mark Molesley how much of an influence did he have in your decision to join Weymouth?

BG: It was massive really, I’d probably go as far as saying I wouldn’t be a Weymouth player today if he wasn’t the manager, I like the way he works and we’ve always had a very good relationship!

AP: Do you have any pre match superstition or routines?

BG: Not any big ones really I like to click my back before a game and that’s about it!

AP: What can Terras fans expect to see from you in your first season at the club?

BG: A player that loves to get on the ball and take us up the pitch, direct play and love to score goals!

AP: Have you been impressed with the pre-season training set up by the management?

BG: Yes, it’s been very professional so far and all the lads have bought into it and worked hard from the word go, hopefully we can take this good work into the games and then eventually start the season well!

AP: Having been with the Terras squad for about a week, which teammate would be the most interesting on Love Island?

BG: That’s a hard question as I’d love to see Charlie on there as he’d be very good to watch and quite controversial, but I think I’ll have to go with Tommo just purely based on how funny it would be to watch him in awkward situations!
