Weymouth FC were pleased to be invited by Radipole Primary School to help read a bedtime story for the children. Captain Jake McCarthy, Assistant Manager Paul Maitland and Director Josh Barton went along for a slightly different themed evening. Jake McCarthy delivered four stories to four different classes and the children enjoyed asking him questions about football and playing for Weymouth.

Philip Bowden- Year 1 Teacher at the school thanked the club for coming in and joining in with the bedtime story. “We are having a bedtime story evening to encourage reading and improve the children’s reading experience. We are extremely grateful to Weymouth FC for coming into the school and reading the stories. The children really enjoyed listening to the captain, Jake McCarthy read to them. It was fantastic.”

Josh Barton also thanked the school for inviting the club to the evening. “We were delighted to take up the opportunity to come along to the story evening. It was fantastic to be asked and we’d like to thank Jake and Paul for coming along. The children seemed to really enjoy it and they were very engaged. We hope we made a difference to their sleeping on the night! Their questions to Jake about football were also brilliant! Weymouth FC are committed to integrating within the local community and this opportunity was great and I think the children and the teachers would agree that Jake did a good job. Thank you to Philip Bowden for inviting us and we hope to build a great new relationship with the school in the future.”
