WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley is looking to end a run of three defeats when his side face Hitchin Town tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras’ run of form has seen them lose at home to Frome Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, before going out of the FA Trophy and Dorset Senior Cup in away matches to Hereford and Bridport respectively.

After the Dorset Senior Cup defeat at St Mary’s Field on Tuesday, Molesley said: “I didn’t have to bring a lot of the players here, so we’ll go to work and look to bounce back quickly from our defeats.”

Asked if he was looking forward to the match, Molesley said: “Without a shadow of a doubt, we were in training last night and we’re back in tomorrow so yeah it’s been a busy week for us management.”

The fifth-placed Terras currently sit nine points ahead of Hitchin who have played a game more.

The Canaries meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three and drawing one.

Weymouth are in the midst of a hectic schedule having played their last two matches away from home with another away tie to follow on Tuesday at Totton in the BigFreeBet.com Challenge Cup.

With this in mind, Molesley made seven changes for their match against the Bees.

The Terras’ manager explained: “With the games coming thick and fast we couldn’t risk our players who are carrying a few knocks.”

Mark Cooper and Harry Baker were both given just over an hour to help them catch up to the rest of the first team.

Recent signing Abdulai Baggie was given another 90 minutes after he was signed on Saturday.

On the decision to play Baggie, Molesley said: “That’s all it’s about, getting his match fitness up to speed so he can really push to get in our first team.”

Molesley also confirmed that striker Matt Tubbs has returned to Havant & Waterlooville following his one-month loan spell at the Terras.

He returned following the FA Trophy game at Hereford, for which he was cup-tied.

Molesley added: “We were really pleased with his efforts and his contribution he made to us and I’m sure he goes back to Havant & Waterlooville now in a lot better shape.

“He came here for match fitness and I think he got that.”
