Thiago Caze da Silva in Weymouth exit

WEYMOUTH director of football Paul Maitland praised Thiago Caze Da Silva’s ‘infectious’ attitude after the defender left the Terras and returned to Brazil.

Caze Da Silva signed for the Terras prior to the 2-0 defeat at Hereford in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division on February 24, and came off the bench in the 77th minute replacing Brandon Goodship.

He scored on his first start at Biggleswade Town in a 2-1 win.

He started every subsequent game as Weymouth ended the season with a 3-0 loss in the play-off semi-final at King’s Lynn Town.

Maitland said: “He had an infectious attitude towards his work, he always gave everything to the cause, always gave his best.

“We wish him the very best of luck going forward, he deserves a chance somewhere to resurrect his full-time career.

“We are very grateful for the time that we had with him.

“We managed to get him to stay until the end of the season, he was a great asset he is a great player.

“We are very thankful for the time we had with him.

“We wish him all the very best – he was nothing but a gentleman while he was here.
