HARRY Baker says there is nowhere else he wanted to go asides from Weymouth after signing a fresh contract with the Terras.

Baker scored 19 goals for the Terras this season, his first with the club, as he helped them to a fifth-place finish on 97 points.

Baker said: “I am chuffed.

“It has been a good season, 19 goals I am really happy with that.

“I am really grateful for the manager for keeping faith in me.

“I have really enjoyed my first season here, there is no where else I wanted to go barring playing for Weymouth again. There is obviously a really good team spirit and I want to be a part of that.”

Baker emphasises that it would be huge for him to repeat his performance across the 2017/18 season for the year ahead.

Baker said: “Hopefully I can prove I can do it again next season, that would be the biggest thing for me to see if I can do it for two seasons and I will work hard in the summer to try and do that.”

Baker signed for next season alongside Abdulai Baggie at the club’s end-of-season presentation evening.

He joins a host of other players who have committed for next season, with the Terras having moved fast to secure players to new deals.

Reflecting on last season, Baker said: “We were unlucky really, normally 97 points in a league campaign normally sends you up but a lot of the lads have signed on again and we are looking to go one better next year and get promotion.”

The Terras have also recruited fresh faces, as Tony Lee has signed from AFC Totton and keeper Jordan Seabright has been recruited.

Baker said: “Jordan has trained with us and played three cup games for us last year, he is a really good keeper so when he comes in in pre-season we know what we are going to get.”

Referring to Tony Lee, Baker said: “I have not met him yet but from what the lads say he is going to be a really good signing, it will add strength in depth.”
