Ex-boss Garry Hill full of praise for Weymouth manager Mark Molesley

EX-TERRAS’ boss Garry Hill spoke of how nice it was to be able to come back knowing that Weymouth are in good hands under current boss Mark Molesley.

Hill was speaking after he managed a Terras Legends side against Bournemouth Legends for a match in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare on Sunday.

Hill said: “It is nice as an ex-manager of the club to come back and know that they are in good hands at the present time under the new guidance of Mark Molesley and his staff.

“Going forward, I am really hoping and wishing Weymouth all the best for the coming season.”

Hill, who managed the Terras to the Conference South title in the 2005/06 season was glad to be back at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Josh McQuoid opened the scoring for Bournemouth, before Lee Phillips and a Matt Bound penalty put the Terras ahead before James Hayter equalised in the second half.

Hill said: “It has been a lovely day there has been no doubt about that.

“It was nice to see a lot of the players who have played for me in the past and played for Weymouth in the past.

“It was played in a good spirit and 2-2, you could see the Bournemouth team were much fitter than Weymouth, they moved the ball well, but I thought we competed very very well.

Overall it is a big plus, it is a shame about the weather but it was still a healthy turnout for a very good cause.

When asked if it brought back any pleasant memories, Hill said: “Very much so, yes it does. It is nice to be able to come back after those good memories in the past and enjoy the day.”
