Terras make the Bob Lucas a fortress

By Josh Barton

Tuesday 24th October 2017, that’s the last time that The Terras last lost at home in the league. A whole year on and the Terras are sitting at the top of the Southern League table and it can be argued that it is largely down to Mark Molesley’s men having a formidable home record. The home record that we have has been quietly moving along, it wasn’t until I saw a tweet from the Echo’s Aidan Williams a few weeks ago that I realised that we were nearly an entire year unbeaten. Our win at the Bob Lucas Stadium against Walton Casuals last Saturday, ensured that we would indeed have achieved this remarkable stat.

Below is a record of our last 21 games at the Bob Lucas Stadium. I’m sure Bob himself would have been proud of how well the team are doing.

Here are a few more stats, courtesy of Duncan (Bristol Exile), that Terras fans might find interesting.

– Highest goal aggregate in games since 1997/98 season.

– Most goals scored by a Weymouth team at this stage since 1948/49

– The last time the Terras had this many points from the first 12 games (based on 3 points for a win) was in 1951/52. Only bettered in 1947/48.

The remainder of this long season promises to have plenty of twists and turns but this is a record that Mark and his team should be proud of. As the manager says, ‘the fans know not to leave our games early’. Attendances are on the up and they will only continue to see an increase as the Terras keep marching on.
