Saturday’s hat-trick hero, Brandon Goodship says that after scoring his third hat-trick of the season, he is in a really good place.

Goodship, who had already scored hat-tricks in away games at Harrow Borough and Chesham United, made it three for the season with a trio of goals against Frome Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium last Saturday.

The frontman now leads the way for the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South Golden Boot with 13 league goals in as many games.

Speaking to theterras.com Goodship said, “Any hat-trick is a nice feeling, but for it to be my third this early on in the season I’m really happy.

“Obviously, it’s thanks to the boys who are behind me, giving me the ammunition to put the chances away.”

Despite winning the game 4-0, Weymouth were forced to break down a resolute Frome Town side who initially made life difficult for the Terras.

“It took us a while to get going, Frome frustrated us by staying compact,” Goodship continued. “We wore them down and they slipped up by giving us a penalty, Thomson did really well to win that and we’ve gone one-nil up.

“The second-half was quite similar to the first in that we took a little while to get going, but once we got into our rhythm moving the goals came. A good days work.”

Goodship praised fellow forward Ben Thomson for assisting two of his goals, but joked that he didn’t feel the ex-Frome Town man was worthy of the sponsor’s man of the match award.

“Thomson set me up twice, although I still don’t think that warranted him getting man of the match, I will have to have a word in the sponsor’s lounge about that!”

Weymouth now face Gosport Borough at the Bob Lucas Stadium tonight (7:45pm kick-off), a game which Goodship said he can’t wait to get going for.

“I’m in a really good place and can’t wait to get going on Tuesday,” Goodship told theterras.com. “No game in this league is easy, home or away, Gosport could prove a tough test.

“We’ll have to pick up from where we left off, some of the football we played towards the end of the Frome game was frightening. We just need to take that confidence into Tuesday and there’s no reason why we can’t give the same display.”
