Mark Molesley has said he wants his side to use Saturday’s game against Tiverton Town (3pm kick-off) as a catalyst to kick start the Terras into a bit of form.

In the previous meeting between the two sides, earlier in the season at Ladysmead, Weymouth came from behind to win 2-1 with goals from Jake McCarthy and Brandon Goodship.

The Terras go into the game looking to keep the pressure on league leaders Taunton Town and after two consecutive draws Molesley is looking for a victory to spark a positive run of results.

Speaking to theterras.com Molesley said, “Tiverton at this level are a really tough side, it was a great three points for us up at theirs. I think that game was almost a catalyst for us, it kick started us into a bit of form.

“We are going to be trying to use this game as the same, to kick start us again, in past weeks we haven’t quite got the points that we probably deserved and that we were looking for. We have to quickly react and get ourselves going again.”

Weymouth come out of the busy Christmas period with a Ridgeway derby win and draws away to Taunton Town and at home to Poole Town. Despite drawing twice, Molesley feels he has seen plenty of positives in the Terras performances.

“It was always on paper going to be tough at Christmas, we haven’t quite got the points we were looking for,” he continued.

“As a manager I have to look at how many chances are we creating? Are we creating more chances than the other team? Are we giving up less chances at our goal? Every game we’ve played this season we’ve out performed the other team.

“Against Poole we had the best chances of the game and had more shots on target. You start to worry when you’re not making chances, and if it looks like you are leaking them all the time then there are moments you need to be better on.

“But on the whole, it isn’t a case of panic stations yet, we had a great performance at Taunton and showed what a good side we were there and we got a great three points in the derby at Dorchester.

“The Harrow game we were two nil up and a bit of craziness and ill-discipline has cost us that game. I think at the moment we have to keep working hard and only we can turn the tide.”

The Weymouth boss believes that their good form this season has made them a target for other sides and that this is something they have to learn to handle.

“It’s fine margains at the moment, the pressure ramps up each game. You could see how Poole raised their game and saw how pleased they were with their point and you could see the disappointment with us and the disappointment with our point.

“It’s testament to the team that we are a big scalp now, so we have to deal with that pressure, learn from it and move on quickly.”

After Saturday’s game with Tiverton Town, Weymouth will be traveling to Ramsbottom United for their Buildbase FA Trophy second round fixture.
