What an amazing weekend for our entire youth section!

Starting on Saturday, our girls teams were involved in a Futsal tournament. There was some excellent football and unbelievable passing along with team spirit and attitude on what was a great day. Unfortunately the girls missed out on the final at St Georges park on goal difference by 2 goals! Well done once again for doing so well, enjoying it and representing us in the correct manner. The girls played against some very experienced Futsal academies in the South West of England and more than held their own.

Sunday saw amazing game play and attitude from our Under 9 and Under 10 teams – always making us proud and well done to all!

Both our Under 12’s and Under 15’s did us proud by winning their League Cup Quarter Finals sending them through to the Semi Finals. On Saturday, the Under 12 team won 6-0 (goals from Alfie, Noah, Sonny, Oscar and two from Ryley)

Here is a match report sent to us from our Under 15’s Manager after they beat Longfleet 5-3.

Weymouth Under 15 5-3 Longfleet Under 15

“Weymouth took the lead after just 45 seconds an incredible strike from Owen, and the lead was doubled in the 20th minute when Finn finished clinically with a left footed drive in the corner.

Longfleet came back into it and were rewarded 3 minutes before the break and then right on half time, made it 2-2 with an excellent finish. Longfleet took control and were correctly awarded a penalty 15 minutes from time which they converted.

Manager, Martin Underhay changed the system immediately and then Weymouth took control again. An amazing run by Tommy in the last minute saw him beat 4 players and then rounded the keeper to send the game into extra time.

Weymouth, now firmly in the driving seat, wore down Longfleet and it was Tommy that popped up with 3 minutes to go to head home after good work by Ole and Owen.

With their opponents visibly deflated, Freddie Fellows was put clean through and his neat finish to make it 5-3 saw Weymouth home. They now have a Derby vs Dorchester Town in 2 weeks.”

Our Under 12 also played on Sunday in a league game which saw them bringing home the win in a 3-1 defeat of Broadstone with goals from Ryley and two from Kai!

Our Under 16 team didn’t disappoint with a soaring 10-2 goal victory on Sunday!

Our Under 14’s team played last seasons Division 2 winners Gillingham and confidently got a 7-0 win! Goals from Adam, Thomas, Jamie, Sol (x2) Jake B and Cohen! Manager Paul describes it as “great team work full of fighting spirit outplaying the opposition in every department – fantastic attitudes, very proud of each and every one of the team!”

What a set of results! Well done everyone!
