On Saturday afternoon Weymouth travel to Beaconsfield knowing the possibility that come 5pm they could be champions of the Southern Premier league South. For this to happen, Weymouth have to beat Beaconsfield and Taunton have to drop points at home to Kings Langley and Met Police have to lose away to Swindon Supermarine. The Terras currently top the table with 81 points, a big margin of 7 points ahead of Met Police who sit second with 74 points, with just 4 games to be played.

If Weymouth were to win the league then it would also be the first time they have been crowned champions of any division since the 2005/06 season when the Terras won the Conference South (now National league South).

Over the last 10 games, Weymouth have picked up 28 points out of a possible 30, with 9 wins and a draw. The last loss for Weymouth came in a 2-1 defeat against Merthyr on February 12th.

Meanwhile for the hosts, Beaconsfield come into this fixture on the back of 4 straight victories, which has taken the Rams into 11th and away from any relegation fight they were being sucked into.

However they stand in the precarious position of being 10 points off the playoffs and 10 points clear of the relegation zone. The last home game for Beaconsfield was last Saturday and was a crucial 2-0 victory over Wimborne Town. After 37 games their record stands at; won 14, drawn 11 and lost 12 totalling in 53 points. Beaconsfield’s home record however stands at; played 18, won 8, drawn 7 and lost 3. The last home loss coming on the 16th of February in a 1-2 defeat against Taunton.

The first fixture between the two clubs ended in a 1-1 draw at The Bob Lucas Stadium with the visitors goal coming from Brendan Matthew, he is arguably their man to watch with 17 goals in the league.

The Terras away form still stands to be the best in the league, also in the last 5 games behind the Terras at the top of form do follow Beaconsfield who have earned 12 points out of the 15 possible. The Terras have only conceded 1 in the last 5, scoring 13.

After scoring 4 against Staines last week in the comfortable 4-0 win, Brandon Goodship, the top goal scorer in the league with 36 will be looking to score more again and beat his total of 38 last season. Furthermore there was 4 more league games last season and to add, the highest total of points Weymouth can collect is 93 which is 4 less than last season but with the 4 less games.
