WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley says ‘there is no bigger spice needed’ as his title-hunting Terras team prepare to travel to Poole Town today (3pm).

The Terras head into the game knowing that a win, combined with a draw or defeat for Taunton Town, who host Merthyr Town, can see the title secured.

Yet the Terras have dropped five points in the title race recently, with a 1-0 loss at Beaconsfield preceding Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chesham United which was matched with two victories for Taunton.

Molesley said: “Derbies, there is no bigger spice needed than two teams battling for a play-off space, us battling for the championship.

“It has got all the ingredients for a fantastic game.

“But we need to just be calm and focused about it and execute our game plan to the best of our ability and we know that if we turn up and we are at our best and we play well then we have got a great chance.”

Molesley is taking heart from Weymouth’s ability to react to tough results, and emphasised the need to stay calm and focused.

Molesley said: “I think as a group, this is our second season (since Molesley took the job of Weymouth manager).

“We have always reacted really well.

“We have very rarely gone two games on the spin without getting a win so the reaction from the boys is usually good, we will do our best to prepare the best we can and everyone knows what is at stake.

“It is just about keeping calm and focused at the moment.”

The last time the two sides met in the league it ended in a 2-2 draw, with the Dolphins twice equalising.
