WEYMOUTH have begun improvement works on the Bob Lucas Stadium, with a new roof in the process of being installed.

The works, part of summer improvements efforts for the stadium, will aim to improve the floodlights, roofing and seats, as first revealed at the club’s AGM earlier this year.

Huge scaffolding has gone up around the Bob Lucas Stadium as the efforts begin, prior to Weymouth’s first home pre-season game against Southend United on Friday, July 12.

Meanwhile, Weymouth are currently awaiting the outcome of their application from the national Buildbase competition for £25,000 worth of materials.

Should the club be successful, the materials will go towards improving disabled access at the stadium.
