WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley says that the league is their ‘sole focus’ now as they prepare to host Hartley Wintney in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras have two losses and a draw in their last three matches and Molesley says his side have to get back to their victorious ways.

Molesley said: “They (Hartley Wintney) are coming to our place and we have got to make sure we get back to our winning selves.

“The league is our sole focus now, we have got to make sure we concentrate on that, focus on that and react quickly.”

Weymouth sit top of the table with 13 points, ahead of Tiverton Town and Merthyr Town due to their superior goal difference.

The Terras suffered their first league defeat of the season last time out, when they fell 4-3 to Farnborough having been leading 3-1 at half-time.

Since then they have had a 1-1 draw at home to Banbury United in the FA Cup first qualifying round followed by a 2-1 defeat in the replay away on Tuesday.

Reflecting on defeat at Banbury, Molesley said: “It was a tough one for us, we should have got the job done on Saturday and we didn’t and we paid the price.

“We ran a close race but we were not quite good enough in the end.

“Sometimes you need a bit of lady luck on your side and we did not quite get that over the two games and that proved to be the difference between the two teams.”

Hartley Wintney are in similarly good form as they six sixth with 11 points and just one league defeat this season, which came in a 2-1 loss at Dorchester Town.

Unfortunately for Weymouth, Josh McQuoid picked up a knee injury during the defeat and Molesley said that the Terras are going to have to assess the injury.

Referring to the injury, Molesley said: “Fingers crossed, hope and pray that it is not too bad and we will dust ourselves down and come back stronger.

“He (McQuoid) is a big player for us.”
